Shirley came to Canada in 1966 from Britian as a young wife, and although she had painted on and off all her life, the challenges of a new country and career were priorities. It wasn't until the early 1990's that she took up painting again and discovered the joy of watercolour.
In 2003 Shirley moved to Barrie. Shirley loves her garden and believes that although the life of a flower is very short, if she can capture it's beauty in a painting, then it lives forever. In 2009 after taking a course at the Art Club, Shirley started painting in acrylic and loves the vibrancey of the medium.
