Heidi Schilback

I am an amateur artist. I was introduced to water colours by the illustrations of the Foster series in the 1960’s, the watercolour techniques of Szabo in the 70’s, Blockley’s explanatory illustrations and finally the brushwork by Emilie Gruppe’s works in oil.

The works of the above artists enabled me to come to many of my own experiences and ideas. I loved the works of Izzard, Runguis, Tom Thompson to mention a few masters. From whom I learned a lot. Most of my works were sold in Fort St. John B.C, in 1979-84, where I lived at the time.

One of my paintings won the Critics AFD Show in 1st Prize. Prior to moving to B.C., I lived in Ontario for 25 years. I love Toronto, Ontario my old stomping grounds and now Barrie. I continue to improve and hope that I can give some enjoymentt to others through art.
