Freda was born in northern Alberta and spent most of her childhood in Oxford County near Woodstock, Ontario.
Her formal education in the arts began at George Brown College in Toronto where she graduated with honors from Fashion Art and Design. She also studied art at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough and throughout the years has participated in many art workshops with accomplished artists such as Brian Ateyo And Gordon Mackenzie.
Watercolours are Freda's favorite way of capturing the essence of her subjects, which includ people, nature and still life. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout Ontario as well as in various juried exhibitions.
The Caledon Hills area, just outside Bolton, Ontario, is now her home where she continues her artistic journey.
